Hi!
I'm a psychology student working on my master thesis. The thesis, which is about Second Life, is focusing on for example sl relationships Vs. real-life relationships and the aim of the study/thesis is to help people of the scientific (psychological) world to better understand what is going on in sl. The financial and legal worlds have gotten better and better at accepting sl as a "real phenomenon", but the psychological world is, in my opinion, still full of ignorance. This is the reason why I have chosen sl as the subject for my master thesis. In order to collect the data I need for my study I will interview a couple of people in sl. And in order to find the "right" people for the study I have created a questionnaire as a first step in selecting participants. And this is where I need your help!
Should you choose to fill out this questionnaire, and should you also be selected for the actual interview, the interview will take place in Second Life. The interview will last about one hour and as a thank-you (after having completed the interview), you will receive 2000 Lindens. In order to be contacted for the actual interview you will have to add your
full avatar name to the questionnaire. Every detail about yourself in the questionnaire will be regarded as strictly confidential. This means that only the one writer (and their supervisor) of the thesis will have access to your information, and no one else. You will never be asked about your real name, and your sl name will not appear in the thesis.

A little more information about the study and the university behind it
The thesis will be written by one person, me. As I am doing this for a university, I have a supervisor who is in charge of the study. If you have any questions for my supervisor, please contact me and I will give you the information you need in order to contact him!
The university is a swedish university, in a city called Umeå. The uni can be found here:

You can contact me here, in-world (Klara Lamilton) or send me an email:

I am aware of the fact that people in sl don't usually like this kind of research, and I know that I am asking a lot, but
please consider filling out the questionnaire. I really do believe that this study is important as I want my future psychology colleagues to understand that what happens in sl is just as real as the things that happen in rl!
Thank you for taking the time to read this
